Left Luggage Theatre present Recollection
Representing the U.K at XIV Young Artist’s Biennale 2009 in Skopje, Macedonia
Left Luggage Theatre were proud to be among artists selected by Arts Council England (East Midlands) in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, De Montfort University, University of Derby and Loughborough University to represent the UK at the 14th Biennale of young artists in Skopje, Macedonia in September 09. During the ten-day festival, Skopje received up to 1000 young artists across all art forms and from 49 countries that exhibited and performed across the city.
Recollection was specially created for the Biennale and was an intimate and immersive installation and performance piece. The audience met Ivy, an eccentric English traveler and collector of memories. Ivy invites the audience to explore her museum of personal artifacts and perhaps leave their own story behind?

The Biennale is promoted by the International Association for the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (BJCEM). Among its core objectives is to promote intercultural dialogue and international exchange and young people’s creativity beyond existing geographical and political borders of the Euro-Mediterranean area.
