Ivy returns to Skegness, the place of her youth and takes us on a day-trip through her dreams and memories.
From the 1920s Seaview Guesthouse, a stop over for summer season performers and fugitives from justice, to the wartime dance hall, the magical pier and the strange xylophone playing albino sisters Ivy takes the audience on a the nostalgic journey to the eccentric world of the British seaside.
Puppets and live performance, soundscape and installation create humourous, melancholic and touching moments. Day Return explored issues of memory, identity, growing old and the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.
